Where does Tailchain Guide Service LLC fish?

We fish the Lake Texoma area, including Lake Texoma, Rock Creek, Newberry Creek.


What are the target fish?

Target fish include Striped Bass (Striper), Crappie, Catfish. The Striper fishing on Lake Texoma in Oklahoma is good year round. Lake Texoma is world famous for its striper fishing for a couple of reasons. The first is that due to massive amounts of baitfish in the lake such as Shad. The two types of Shad in Lake Texoma are Threadfin Shad and the Gizzard Shad. Both of these fish are a huge part of the diet of Lake Texoma Stripers. Lake Texoma is also one of a few reservoirs in the United States where natural Striped Bass Reproduction occurs. While the Striper fishing is generally good year round the best time to catch stripers in Texoma starts at the end of April. The fishing only improves in to the summer when we see a big Striper run from June to August. Our summer striper fishing dates fill up fast so make sure to book them well in advance!

Do I need a STATE Fishing license?

Yes, a Fishing license is required


Where do I get a STATE Fishing license?

An Oklahoma fishing license is required for individuals aged 16 years and older. Anglers fishing the Red River will also be required to have an Oklahoma issued fishing license. Please visit the Oklahoma Department of Wildlife Conservation for more information and to purchase your license.

How much should I Tip?

It is customary to tip 20% of the trip total. We work tirelessly to make sure you have a guest experience!


Do I need to bring my own gear?

No, we provide standard gear such as rods and reels so you don’t need to worry about anything. But please feel free to bring you own gear if you prefer.
